About Tideglass
Tideglass is a thematic investing publication for the time-restricted investor — the kind who already reads enough and still arrives at trades a few months too late.
I write for investors with a real portfolio (typically $75k to half a million), a real day job, and a few years of buying themes behind them. Along the way, they’ve subscribed to four or five newsletters because every smart take they read sounded important. They’ve also bought AI late, or uranium just before the top, or some other theme they were right about, at exactly the wrong time.
The problem isn’t information. The problem is timing, integration, and discipline.
That’s what Tideglass exists to solve.
The Method - The Theme Cycle
Tideglass runs on a single proprietary frame, applied to every theme I cover: the Theme Cycle.
Every active theme — AI infrastructure, agentic AI, defense and space, energy renaissance, onshoring, robotics, stablecoins — gets placed on one of four stages:
> Denial → Discovery → Consensus → Crowded
- Denial. Unloved, unfashionable, capital exiting
- Discovery. Smart money positioning ahead of mainstream awareness
- Consensus. Mainstream-aware, valuations re-rated, allocators positioned
- Crowded. Peak FOMO, retail dominates, distribution forming
Where a theme sits is most of what determines whether you should be buying, holding, fading, or staying out. Not the headlines. Not the analyst targets. Not the conviction of any single thinker. The stage.
The Theme Cycle is applied publicly every month in the Theme Cycle Map. Each placement is reasoned, dated, and updated as the picture shifts. Over time, the pattern of how I score themes — and where I get it right or wrong — becomes the track record.
The Formats Inside Tideglass
You’ll see four recurring formats. Each does something specific.
1) Weekly synthesis
Each Monday, one decisive newsletter. I read across the best thematic minds — Citrini, Doomberg, Net Interest, Fullstack Investor, RJC Capital, MV Cunha, Serenity, and others — and tell you what they collectively are seeing this week. Where they converge, where they diverge, and what to actually do about it. No 4,000-word essays. No hedging. The conclusion is the point.
2) Theme Cycle Map (monthly)
The central artefact of Tideglass. Every active theme scored on the cycle with reasoning. The map shows the whole landscape on one page. Reference themes that aren’t deep-dive material (Mag7 valuations, uranium spot, GLP-1 majors) appear too, marked as illustration.
### 3) Trade ideas with the Sizing Closer
Every long thesis ends in the same three-line block:
- Conviction: 1–5
- Position size in the model portfolio
- Exit trigger or what would change my mind
Not advice. How I’m sizing my own exposure. The Sizing Closer is what turns a thesis from a story into a decision.
4) Thesis Status and the public track record
Monthly: every active position revisited. Still right, drifting, or abandoning. Honest.
Continuous: every trade in the model portfolio goes public on eToro within 24 hours. When I’m wrong, I say so. When I change my mind, I say why.
Who This Is For
Tideglass is for investors who:
Read enough finance content already and want one integrating layer, not another voice
Have $50k+ in a self-directed portfolio and treat it seriously
Think in months and years, not days
Want process and discipline, not signals and alerts
Hold positions through drawdowns when the thesis holds
Tideglass is not for:
Day traders, options scalpers, or anyone looking for next-week timing
Investors with sub-$10k accounts where transaction costs dominate
Readers who want confirmation of what they already believe
Anyone seeking “10x stocks by Friday” content
If you want fast hot takes and unverified picks, this will feel slow.
If you want one decisive read each week that connects the smartest thematic thinkers to actual decisions, you’ll feel at home.

What I Commit To
No one can promise performance.
Here’s what I do commit to:
Writing as if my own capital depends on it — because it does. Every trade I publish is real money in the public eToro portfolio
Being explicit about what I know, what I don’t, and what would change my mind
Admitting mistakes openly and revisiting theses in public when facts change
Naming the sources I synthesise from. No paraphrasing without attribution
Keeping this useful for serious investors, not optimised for clicks
Never sending a marketing email to paid subscribers
If that’s your way of thinking about markets, welcome inside.
